General: I am a professional flack and message consultant in my mid-30s living in the Deep South. Earlier in my career, I was a writer and editor. (Jake is my nom de plume.) In the far-distant past, I also worked in retail, undercover store security and construction. Personal: I have lived in several Southern locales, but I travel throughout the States and the world (although not as much as I would like). And, yes, I am gay. I don't have a rainbow flag flying from my house, but I can be seen time from time at local 'mo (as in ho-mo) establishments and events. Philosophy: I tend to be a libertarian (little "l," not one of those whackos that tend to fill the Libertarian Party), and what doesn't hurt me doesn't concern me. If you find comfort in attending church services, knock yourself out. If you find comfort in watching consenting adults copulate via a DVD in the privacy of your own home, knock yourself out. If you find comfort in pretending that your Prius and dolphin-free tuna will save the world, knock yourself out. But if you find comfort in restricting others' freedom, self-expression and will, then we will have a problem.
